Join a game

Rink Rats simplifies the process of finding and joining pick-up games and league games for hockey players, especially for those who are new to an area or to the game. It eliminates the hassle and time-consuming task of searching for upcoming games, allowing players to easily register for games and join teams without any difficulties.

Player Confirmation

Rink Rats helps both players and rinks to alleviate the problem of not having enough players, especially goalies, showing up for the scheduled pick-up games. It not only makes it easy for players to discover and join games, but also allows players to confirm their participation on the day of the game, thus reducing the risk of last-minute cancellations. Additionally, it also helps rinks to fill the spots and improve their occupancy.

Game Cancelation

While the Rink Rats app helps to reduce the risk of last-minute game cancellations, unforeseen issues such as Zamboni breakdown or upcoming tournaments can still occur. This report allows players to identify the specific skills they need to improve and how they can go about doing so, thus making it easier for them to take the next step in their hockey journey. This feature is beneficial for players who are serious about playing hockey to the best of their abilities and want to improve their skills.

It plans to partner with a hockey supply company to offer discounts on training products and equipment, making it more affordable for players to get the necessary gear to enhance their game experience. TTo create fair and evenly matched teams, Rink Rats uses a unique algorithm that combines three different types of skills assessments: self-rating, peer rating, and actual rating. By utilizing the combined average from the Rink Rats trifecta, the app ensures a great user experience while also fostering a positive experience on the ice for players. This leads to more competitive and enjoyable games, which is beneficial for all players.

Manage and communicate with leagues

Rink Rats app not only facilitates communication between coaches and players but also enables communication between coaches and parents in youth hockey leagues. This allows coaches to manage upcoming games, communicate with other coaches and also to keep parents informed about the schedule, progress and other important information. This feature is beneficial for youth hockey leagues as it enables coaches to keep all stakeholders informed and up to date, leading to a more organized and efficient league management.

In-App Messaging

A vision turn to app.

A passion for hockey led Aeric, who grew up playing the game in Alaska, to develop an app that connects hockey players with rinks in their area. After moving to California, he found it difficult to find pick-up games due to limited visibility of hockey rinks on websites. Together with his business partner, Brandon Deleva, he created RinkRats, an app that acts as a hub for the hockey community, making it easy for players, coaches, and teams to communicate with rinks and rent ice for games, practice, camps, and tournaments.
